RANSFORD ANTWI FILES TO CONTEST AS INDEPENDENT PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE FOR SUNYANI EAST
Fifty-one-year-old Sunyani based Business Mogul, Mr. Ransford Antwi has today, 10th September, 2024 filed officially to contest the 7th December Parliamentary Elections as an Independent Parliamentary Candidate for the Sunyani East Constituency.
Speaking after successfully filing his nomination at the EC District office in Sunyani, Mr. Ransford Antwi expressed optimism that the people of Sunyani East will give him the mandate to change the face of the constituency, citing his track record of Living for Humanity.
He noted that the constituency with such a prospect should not be left to deteriorate at such an unprecedent level under the current MP. “Sunyani is not just an ordinary constituency but also doubles as the Regional Capital of the Bono Region and as such there is the need to deliberately work to position it to benefit the entirety of the Bono Region”, he stated.
Sunyani East constituency has seen the incumbent MP running for four terms unabated. However, he now faces a strong contender in the person of Ransford Antwi who is largely loved by the people. As an indigen of Sunyani Area Two, the Independent Parliamentary Candidate has contributed in diverse ways towards the socio-economic development of the area. His contribution as an individual can be felt in employment creation and promotion, school development, media growth, sanitation, football development, health, business development and so on.
Ransford Antwi was very instrumental during the construction of the Sunyani Coronation park’s dressing room. Without his intervention Bofoakwa Tano would not have had the opportunity to play at the favorite home ground at the Sunyani coronation park.
An announcement on his Facebook wall alone was sufficient to raise over GHc500,000. 00 to construct the Sunyani Coronation Park Dressing room. He has been one of the main advocates for the construction of a deserving sports stadium for Sunyani backing his reason with the major contribution of the Bono Region to Ghana’s football.
He has over the past years been giving retired footballers in the Bono Region a treat every year whiles supporting some needy ones amongst them to cater for their medical bills.
The former Football Administrator, Ransford Antwi has supported several retired footballers to attend coaching and football administration courses to enhance their livelihoods.
It is therefore not surprising that the retired footballers two years ago beseeched him to step-out to contest for Member of Parliament for the area citing his human centeredness and ingenuity as qualities that the Sunyani East Constituency need the most.
His contribution to development is not limited to Sunyani but largely towards the Bono Region and the country at large. No wonder he was mentioned by the former President of Ghana Football Association, Kwasi Nyantakyi as being the main facilitator in getting Puma to be the kit sponsor of the Ghana Black Stars.
Filing his nomination therefore nullifies all fabrications and propaganda going rounds that he has decided to step down through the intervention of the President.
